At his previous company, BombBomb, he realized that supporting high-velocity and account-based sales teams was only possible with highly scalable processes within Salesforce, so he moved into an operations role, where he has been ever since! 3:11 – 7:23 – Designing Operational Processes for the End User – Processes should be built from a human standpoint to support sellers, not get in the way. You can look at the data and get feedback from the end users to understand what is beneficial and what might slow them down. Then look for common themes or other insights you can use to build something scalable and more human-centered.
7:35 – 11:54 – The Moments That Matter – Try to break the sales cycle into moments that matter. These moments in the buyer’s journey will make or break the next thing that needs to happen. Working across sales and marketing to understand these moments helps to decide what fields to automate, who to pull in and when, and where you can reduce friction to drive the deal forward.
12:10 – 16:57 – Showpad’s Revenue Operations – RevOps is the center of the GTM and the entire customer lifecycle. It is vital to listen to your stakeholders and communicate. Keep talking and trying to understand what is going on and why. Dig in and get your hands dirty.
16:57 – 19:30 – Driving Outcomes and Coordination – Start with company initiatives or outcomes you want to achieve. Then, let each department build a plan to support, determine the cadence of collaboration, and ensure alignment. Understanding the stakeholders’ prerogatives to prioritize your actions and ensure that you move the needle or improve the customer experience.
19:34 – 25:21 – The TechStack Philosophy – More tech doesn’t equate to more revenue. It often means more things to manage. Ask if you can meet a gap internally with tools you already have or do you actually need to buy something. If you need to buy something, use all the capabilities to maximize your investment and plan for effective implementation and how you’ll measure success and ROI.
